The rock formation at the summit of Shapley Tor. My assumption is this natural aesthetic sculpture would’ve looked much the same back when the cairn was sited with it perfectly placed upon the northern skyline?

Suggestive of a former kerb.... now either mostly lost, or subsumed within Dartmoor itself.

Difficult to differentiate from the heather unless on the spot – whereby it’s obvious – my trekking poles hopefully assist here. The massive King’s Barrow rises upon the skyline, beyond.
