Asper’s field stone from different angle Feb 2006
Again, am using my friend Vicky as scale so you can see how lovely and big this stone is. It looks like a completely different stone from each angle....
The strange cup on the Asper’s Field stone.
This carving is pretty much the same dimensions as the cup on the Goggleby Stone and another unrecorded cup that Stu and I discovered on a stone nearby.

I spotted this stone over the wall when visiting the Goggleby Stone. I hadn’t done my research on this stone beforehand so didn’t realise it had cup / ring marks on it – doh! That will teach me. Another visit required when next in the area.
I have since read that this stone makes up part of the Shap Avenue.
This stone is just over the wall from the Goggleby Stone and has some lovely cup marks.
