Everstorfer Forst Nord 3

Everstorfer Forst Nord 3 is a slightly trapezoid long barrow measures about 16 by 3.5–4 metres. The burial chamber sits at the eastern end of the barrow and was only discovered during later excavations.

The fact that the chamber went unnoticed for so long, hidden within the mound until excavation revealed it, is a good reminder of how much of this landscape’s structure lies just beneath the visible surface.

Coming from the east, this is the third tomb of the row, lying 30 m east of grave Everstorfer Forst Nord 2 — the two are visible from one another along the row.
