The entrance to Longhole Cave.
Longhole Cliff is not visible from the Coast Path, but Overton Cliff Cave, a little further along the cliffs to the east of Longhole Cave, is. Coflein lists it but there’s no indication that it has ever been investigated for evidence of habitation.

Immediately inside the arched entrance, there is a fairly spacious area, leading into the narrower passage at the rear.
It took a bit of finding, tucked away into the cliff face.

Set in a small limestone crag, above the sea cliffs, excavation of this cave in 1861 and 1969 produced both Palaeolithic flint tools and pleistocene fauna (remains of).
