A retrospective sunburst... the western outlying cairn is seen to left, the south-western main ridge cairn above to right.

The wild, inhospitable and utterly wondrous summit ridge of Tair Carn Isaf, looking approx north-east towards the heart of Y Mynydd Du..... Bronze Age cairns as far as the eyes can see. And that’s a fact.

The much smaller north-eastern cairn – no bees in this ‘un. Note two of the massive Tair Carn Uchaf cairns rising beyond.

The south-western cairn upon the summit plateau... the Mam C provides scale (since I couldn’t get her off – although the honey bees subsequently found to be occupying the cairn forcibly removed us later on!). Note the extensive footprint to left and right of the surviving stone pile.
