Iron Age Gold Goes On Public View

Four solid gold Iron Age neck ornaments which were found by an amateur metal detector have gone on display. Here is the BBC video

And some words plus the audio/video from the Edinburgh side of the country.

I had wondered what became of the Stirlingshire Find - whatever people think about metal detecting there is no denying the finder in this instance behaved in the proper manner and the neck adornments look truly precious both historically and asthetically.

PS: I rarely read the other forums Drew so dunno what the locked thead is about, just know I really enjoyed your recent 'blue, blue, brilliant blue' photos and all your posts (nothing wrong with a bit of passion about the things that matter most).
best wishes

There was a big argument, which didn't involve me as such but it was getting all to much, I've not much care to slag people or question peoples sexuality or set up polls etc etc, so I left for the time being. I don't think anybody got the Last Post (cornet/trumpet players will get this) bit, the Reveille has still to come.

As for TMA, what a list of places I've made for myself to visit when, well you know the rest.....................

Take care.

Looks like a million pounds to be paid out for the four torcs Drewboy....

As for the internet, its a wicked old place sometimes, just be who you are and don't take notice of the nonsense; the beautiful Scottish scenery(with stones) is far more important...
