Esgair Garn, Llanddewi Abergwesyn (Round Cairn) by GLADMAN Funny how a pile of stones erected by 'savages' - deemed however 'noble' by Victorian scholars - can seem to pull at the very essence of what makes me human? I received a text today from a date stating simply 'Looser' (sic). Thanks, Sarah from Balham. She couldn't understand why I do this, sleep in my car, endure the worst of the UK weather, walk until I drop from sheer fatigue... to see "old piles of stones". There is a time and a place for everything - to lie with someone and to forget everything beyond the bedroom; however to understand your place in the human story I feel you need to appreciate those who went before. The knowledge you take for granted was once hard won through experience... by someone not unlike you or I. Credit is not only due, but essential. Good luck Sarah.

You and I do seem to agree upon the fundamentals, SC. Sarah from Balham is OK, albeit not what I am looking for. Let her get on with her life, obsessed with her bloody I-phone... however is it me or does there seem so many new, wonderfully exciting ways now-a-days.... of saying the same old rubbish? Beautiful photo Gladman. Guess I must be a fellow looser. I'm often bemused by other people's reactions to my passion; as bemused as they obviously are with me. Never mind.
