Slept in the car above Llandrillo since I ran out of time... but worth it. Couldn't have moved on after dark anyway, to be fair, since I found my headlights had shorted out. As they do. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Just commented on one of the other photos for this stone circle before spotting this one - very lovely indeed. tjj Posted by tjj

Thanks tjj. Not that difficult to get to... as Welsh circles go. A bit of a short, but sharp walk up a small hill from a green track at the end of a dead end tarmac road from Llandrillo. A pretty remote feeling nonetheless, and, for my money, one of the finest panaromas of Snowdonia there is. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Definitely worth the effort, although it's fairly steep it's easy terrain and it's not that far to walk if you're used to walking as you are (obviously it's probably quite a day trip from Swindon, although I did manage a day trip from Cheltenham, so you never know). If you go a little further up (say, Cadair Bronwen), the views on a clear day are unbelievable. All the main Snowdon ranges are visible in a continuous panorama. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Don't think I would attempt that in a day tsc, not adverse to B&B though. I have two moggies (wouldn't you just know it) that need sorting out before I can take off. tjj Posted by tjj

Llangollen is a nice place to stay, there's buses from there to Llandrillo. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
