The most westerly of the barrows.
The slight bump of the longbarrow – behind is Cotley Hill and Scratchbury.
The third barrow is also known as ‘the Knoll’. It looked amazing amidst the swirling sea of barley.
The western end of Longbridge Hill, close to the henge.
A slightly different view of the barrow. With all those pink scots pine branches standing out so well perhaps it’s no wonder a story about someone hanging from them is connnected with the site.
I know. You can’t see it. But I assure you it’s there. Behind is the landscape that dominates the site, Longbridge Hill (on top is Cow Down).
Not the best angle, but gives an idea of the ‘island’ in its cereal sea.
Brown horse with white horse at Bratton.
This is directly inspired by your photos, so thanks. (the actual piece was darker blue and silver than it looks)
Sun disc in beads, made during short lived beading frenzy in 2003. I’m not sure now why I made it so pink :)
A scrawl of the gold ‘sun disc’ from Lansdown (possibly copied from an illustration at the disgracefully vanished local prehistory section of Bristol Museum and Art Gallery).
witness the coxcomb – monument to chickenkind?
No dogs, no bagpipes, plenty of people on their commute home from Sellafield. A fine spot.
