Looking down on the outer ditch at the northern end of the fort.
The northern ramparts are being encroached on by the forest.
The ramparts are bisected by a little burn across the mid-point of the arcs (immediately behind the two trees).
Looking from the southeastern section of ramparts towards the northwestern ramparts (brown with bracken).
It’s a fine promontory fort, this.
Looking NW.
The parts of the ramparts that don’t have trees growing on them are very overgrown with bracken.

The O/S map shows this promontory fort to be adjacent to the cup and ring marked rock. Apparently it has at least five ramparts to protect the side without steep natural slopes. However, I can neither confirm nor deny this as I couldn’t see anything due to the head high rhododendrons and chest high ferns.
No doubt a winter visit would be more productive.
