The southern – and presumably secondary – gateway, featuring another orthostat. Kenny’s Cairn crowns the skyline.

Western flank, looking south(ish). The great Kenny’s Cairn can just be discerned centre right skyline.

The univallate defences aren’t bad either.

Intriguing. I tried to think of similar entrance formations in other forts and only came up with Chun Castle in Cornwall... then?

Approaching in a, er, rather roundabout way from Warehouse Hill... the first thing to strike me was this fine trio of standing stones not shown on the map. Closer inspection revealed this is because they form the northern entrance to the fort, presumably a fourth now missing? I pondered whether this may have been a conscious effort to symbolically reflect the passages of the passage graves in the vicinity?
