Actually it made me think of those boat stones they used for royal inaugurations. It looks decidedly unnatural, those sharp lines as if a masin struck a huge rock at just the right place - though on the other hand maybe a little crisp to be truly prehistoric.

My thinking exactly, though I had visions of a sacrificial altar, maybe due to my recent trip to the bog bodies exhibition at the National Museum here.
