Orkney Trip

What wonderful coincidences. Yes, of course we did pop over from here in Maryland on the Right Coast of the USA. That trip to Scotland was the first of many trips Driving the Stone Age, some of which were to meet the Modern Antiquarians.

Although we first met TMAers on the Stone Pages, long ago.

And it was in North Ronaldsay on that first trip I finally found the sweater I had been longing for: handknitted of undied Rare Breeds wools, marvelous shades of charcoal and wood ash. Loie says I look like a standing stone when I wear it.

I take that as a compliment.

Haha!

North Ronaldsay's great, isn't it? Did you fly out fot the day, or did you stay there? Such a bleak - yet uttely welcoming! - place... I presume the "rare breeds" that the wool came from were the seaweed-eating variety that dominate the shores..? Bless 'em! :D
