Not very good advice to cut fences. after all, you may allow some livestock to roam out as a result of these actions. you really should find a way past the obstacle and then report it. I know. I got it off this web site!!
http://www.iprow.co.uk/access/default.asp

I know but I was like that then. I never did it when there was livestock in the field. Main places I did practice it religiously was barbed wire over styles.

sorry to change the topic, but there is an interesting "Agriculture Information Sheet" on the site that Vulcan links to, all about bulls (no, not me, the animal kind). I once mentioned on a forum discussion that several people have died in cattle related incidents (my grand name for it - sounds like a programme for Channel 5).

The info sheet says that "in the five years from April 1990 to March 1995, 14 major incidents involving cattle and members of the public were investigated by HSE [Health & Safety Executive]. Many of these incidents were in fields; five resulted in death. There were many other incidents not reported to nor investigated by HSE".

oh lordy!
