Robert Young, in his 1984 PHD thesis Wear Valley Prehistory (vol. 2, p. 654), states that this barrow is now destroyed, but also that it was mentioned in Hutchinson's 1794 History of Durham(vol. 2, p. 2) as being "very conspicuous". The exact location of this site is unknown and the grid reference I give here is intended only to reveal the general area. TomBo Posted by TomBo
