Vet's dog theory over ancient Uffington White Horse

The Uffington White Horse has been caught up in an identity battle after it was suggested it could be a dog.

How appropiate that you should put up this news Danielspaniel, do you always follow the doggie news ;) ;)
I did struggle with this but after the vet could'nt decide whether it was a greyhound or a wolfhound decided he was'nt much of a judge on chalk white horses either.....

Hah! Our canine friend just pipped me to the post on this one. I actually posted this, and subsequently deleted it, cos Mr Spaniel got here mere moments before! :)

I've actually heard the "dog" theory before, but can't remember where. What I say is "and why not?" It's ambiguous enough, and who knows what was going through the minds of those who made it in the first place?

Nice to hear alternative theories, innit? :) Especially when they're not altogether mental. ;)
