Hey up, Please dont take this the wrong way, I'm in no position to question, more outta interest than owt else; but.... are these cup marks prehistoric like? I only ask as in Derbyshire there are a number of cross bases with marks like these (Buxton and Monyash say) and often wondered what they were about and....whether they may be cup marks. nice one stu. |

Hi Stu, We've asked Stan Beckensall this question with regard to the cup-like depressions under one of the Jedburgh Abbey pillars (clearly not prehistoric): http://rockartuk.fotopic.net/p22663583.html Could the Reyfad cross socket cups be another example of Pica? Cheers, Jan |
