One of many trips to this off the beaten track stone circle.

After 2 failed attempts to reach this circle, 1st time by an incredibly thick fog, and 2nd time by gale force winds, i finally made it there on a glorious day. 3rd time lucky for sure.

A clear sign to the military!
One of the many broken stones, due to the circle being on military training ground. Apparantly a tank was driven through the circle in the middle of the night.

Annoyingly i travelled all this way, only to be told the crossing could not be made, as it was too rough to land on the island.

Quite a large chambered cairn (its in the name really, Giants grave) in dense woodland on the south east corner of Arran.
Quite a climb to get to.

Great atmospheric megalith, just north of the main site of Machrie Moor, can be seen from the road quite clearly. Stunning location.

second trip to this distant dartmoor stone circle. An epic 10 mile round trip over the moor, but so worth it.
No other dartmoor stone circle has the solitude of this location.

The registrar from Stornoway that carried out the ceremony, told us that it was going to be the last marriage ever held at the stones. 20 of our closest friends and family attended.
