From approx east.... as mentioned, this is a very upstanding round barrow for eastern England. But profiles can be deceptive... how long before Nature’s critters cause collapse?

The north-western flank, looking south(ish).... a combination of tree roots and animal burrows have fair honeycombed this round barrow.

Round Barrow(s)

A round barrow near the Icknield Way path, known as Grinnel Hill. It’s about three metres high with a flat top – unusually well preserved for this part of the country.
