The barrow is slightly larger than the ring barrow to its north, at 19m in diameter and about 0.75-1m in height.

This barrow, (labelled as a stepped barrow on the os map, although I saw no graduations) is well positioned on a patch of high ground on the Curragh plains, and is the furthest from the road in this section of the Curragh ~200m.
