I just read this and was going to post it here myself.

Once again our ancient heritage is vandalised by morons in the name of Fathers 4 Justice (which ever one it is and who have distanced themselves from it).

Personally I don't care for what reason it was done, I only know that if I ever catch somebody doing it they will require an operation to remove the spray can from their arse.

Yeah, what a great way to 'advertise' the fact that, 'hey, I'm a responsible father'..... By being a complete and utter moron. The only conclusion to draw is that, what ever the circumstances, any child is far better off without contact with such worthless noneties as these.

I'm appalled by this news and probably don't need to say anymore.

Was at UWH just last week ... we also visited Wayland's where some utter twat had chalked ALL OVER the biggest portal stone. I was so ashamed and angry that my American visitors were faced with such mindlessly scrawled gibberish. Needless to say that defacing didn't make the headlines.

Appalled and saddened by this. And by the defacing of Wayland's Smithy. Last time I was there with my wife a school party were being allowed by their teachers to treat the structure as an adventure playground. When we mentioned it we were told "well, it's just a pile of old stones..." !

Up on Uffington White Horse Hillfort this afternoon. Pleased to report the chalk looked pristine and recently restored. No sign of the recent 'Father's for Justice' vandalism; well done to English Heritage for its apparent prompt action.

I've only just heard about this thanks to your link here. It makes me livid to think of the mindlessness behind it. Most likely due to boredom and utter ignorance.
