Last year after a morning of stone hunting on Anglesey I decided to go and see Aber falls(os 668700 )after seeing the falls I followed the river (afon Rhaeadr fawr)along its course through a gorge ,upon reaching the bridge near the carpark I was rumaging around in the river looking for good stones to put in a fishtank, when i found 'the stone'.I was immediately struck by its shape ,straight edged wider at one end ,then I thought about where I was and what I might be holding. The stone is about 8ins long and well worn by the river perhaps being rolled around for 4-5000 years .Just over 4 miles from Graig Lwyd ,right next to a river crossing which for all I know could have been used as such since the neolithic ,the prehistoric track which passes the druids circle could have been right here where I found the stone. So lets imagine for a minute ,A neolithic axe carrier with a heavy load came down out of the hills ,whilst crossing the fast moving river he stumbled and lost an axe and there it stayed untill I came along ,it now resides on a shelf at home and the more I look at it the more convinced I am .What do you think ,i need to know, please see pic at Graig Lwyd site any replies on the forum ,many thanks
