Mynydd y Capel cairns (Barrow / Cairn Cemetery) by thesweetcheat A small cairn towards the southeastern edge of the cairnfield with an upright stone within. The Mynydd y Capel standing stone can be seen silhouetted on the skyline, to the right of centre.

Enjoyed all you photos from this part of the world and particularly pleased to see so much survived the coal industry down there and now looking like great walking territory, a rich history indeed. Posted by costaexpress

Thank you, once you get above the industrial blight there are some very beautiful views, plenty of archaeology, and very decent walking on the ridges. I didn't see a soul on this ridge over a few hours. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
