An attempt to capture the monster chamber capstone. This was my first try of many at many different sites – nothing can quite prepare you for the scale of things in Brittany, as the cliché goes. Kercado was busy this day, mid-July 2016, despite the €1 entrance charge.

I regret this is a completely pointless remark. But on seeing the thumbnail of this photo I immediately thought it looked like some apocalyptic painting by John Martin. So maybe you succeeded in your quest to capture the epicness, albeit subconsciously. Sorry if I'm going mad. It looks like a superb place.
There's a lot in that comment Rhiannon – you go as mad as you like. I'd never heard of John Martin before (just wikipediaed him there) and well, Brittany is over the top. It kind of puts my stone-chasing efforts back home here in the ha'penny place. Superlatives don't suffice – you have to go there.
A very interesting site, lovely driveway through an avenue of trees leading up to it, the three stone pillars that your photo captures the tops of, are covered in modern day graphitti if I remember correctly. Wish you would all stop posting these sort of photos, sets off uncontrollable desires to go back.
