Finally, amidst endless lockdowns, stolen elections, and everything else, here's a bit of good news: Assange won't be extradited to the US. At least not for now. America is expected to appeal.
The judge didn't make her decision based on freedom of speech or the necessity of a free press, but on the terrible conditions of the US prison system. I would have preferred a decision based on the first instance, but at least in this case the barbarism of "American justice" gets a lukewarm criticism. And more important, Assange's future looks slightly brighter than before, for the first time since armed thugs dragged him kicking and screaming out of the Ecuadorian embassy two years ago.
Hopefully he will be able to get out on bail while the US prepares its appeal. That's what would normally happen in this case. Then, it will be back to the "legal" onslaught...
