"Not dogmatically sticking to one camp or another."
I don't think "crazy alternative theories" should be dignified by being called a camp. Darwin was broadly right, as bolstered by a million, million confirmatory observations. Intelligent design has been shown to be valid not a single time.
One camp, and one group of people who reject evidence as a basis for explaining the world. They're welcome to do so but not to slag off the whole idea of science. I used to live in Shrewsbury. There's a plaque in a church celebrating that young Darwin worshipped there. So a good, sensible modern congregation who accept science and don't pretend he is in conflict with their faith. So 150 years of understanding in Salop - why can't the fundamentalists and the science deniers in the States catch up?
