Why, if you aren't after personal kudos,don't you put your evidence into the public domain where everyone can see it (Youtube is a good start) and the academics who tell you "not to push it" will have to take note as everyone will be asking them questions and querying why they tried to ignore it. Then you can turn to them and say "I told you so!"
