The Defra Schemes are run by Natural England. They do employ archaeologists but the boss isn't one and I think it shows. There are a lot of Defra schemes at Thornborough. Say no more squire.
Your mention of PJ Proby cheered me up. There should be a lot more discussions about him here IMO.
