One of the main problems in photographing Castlerigg is that it's setting is so photogenic, getting there when there aren't loads of other people trying to do the same thing, means visiting either very early, or in crap weather ;-)
There's a particularly difficult picture to take at Castlerigg, of the stone with the spiral carving. If the light isn't just right, it can't be seen at all. I've never seen it in the real myself, and have only seen one photo of it.
As far as I'm aware, no-one has posted a pic of the spiral here.
Though I would hope if I'm wrong, I'd be suitably harrangued.
