can I just say that the law is blatantly insane
http://www.thesite.org/drinkanddrugs/drugsafety/thelaw/magicmushroomsandthelaw
if they class a few mushrooms in the same bracket as crack cocaine. If I have them in my hand I could go to prison for 7 years. And if I give you a handful I could go to prison for life!
How can going to a field and collecting a few mushrooms which are native to this country and growing naturally, for my own personal use at home - how can that equate to involving yourself in dealings with the criminal underworld, who are making huge amounts of money out of people, selling highly addictive stuff that's been grown halfway across the world by peasants, and that leaves lives in a mess and leads to more crime to fund drug addiction - how can it?? It doesn't does it and the law is an ass.

Well said!
*O)

The law is just the right arm of the establishment. And they don't want people discovering via altered states of consciousness that the world is far bigger and more wonderful than being a drone in the service of the feudal lords of commerce.

Alcohol is allowed because it helps people forget, temporarily. It's not an expanding experience- it dulls the consciousness, instead of raising it.
