I know where to go for a quick afternoon trip now if I need one.
There's an easy track leading up from Kilranelagh cemetery (the cemetery has been cleaned up, exposing St. Bridget's Holy Well, which you might want to check). If you're heading over from Boleycarrigeen, check on the ogham stone. I had a short look for it but the forest has been cut down and I couldn't get my bearings. I had a slight suspicion that it may just have been cast aside.

I was at the ogham stone a couple of months ago. It is inside the rath, which hadn't been cleared then, although a local archaeologist did tell me a while back that it was going to be cleared. When I went there I was actually on my way up to the cairns, but it started raining. The last time I tried to find the well I couldn't find it, so that just adds to the trip.
