Drat, didnt realise Carrowmore was closed at this time of year. Quick change of plan, went to the Burren instead, and I'm not sorry I did! (Though I would have been if I had not relocated my walking shoe that got stuck in a crevice on the treacherous path to Poulnabrone in darkness). What fantastic weather, what fantastic wedge tombs!

Going to print off your suggestions for the next weekend trip, thanks a million, if I had been as organised going to the Burren I could have seen so much more.

Ken

Love your Burren pics Ken, the two sites at Carrowmore that would suit your style the most, tomb 5 and tomb 7 are still accessible, they are situated on the opposite side of the road to the visitors centre. The land there was only recently acquired by the state so access is still possible, there are many other sites at Carrowmore not under state ownership, where access is possible tombs 19, 26 and 27 to name a few. Carrickglass "The Labby Rock" portal tomb would be a must visit and maybe Magheraghanrush and Creevykeel, the first two sites are beautifully situated and Creevykeel is in a gorgeos part of the country, I look forward to seeing your pics of these sites.
