Love your Burren pics Ken, the two sites at Carrowmore that would suit your style the most, tomb 5 and tomb 7 are still accessible, they are situated on the opposite side of the road to the visitors centre. The land there was only recently acquired by the state so access is still possible, there are many other sites at Carrowmore not under state ownership, where access is possible tombs 19, 26 and 27 to name a few. Carrickglass "The Labby Rock" portal tomb would be a must visit and maybe Magheraghanrush and Creevykeel, the first two sites are beautifully situated and Creevykeel is in a gorgeos part of the country, I look forward to seeing your pics of these sites.
Thanks megaman, I might head up to Carrowmore in the next few weeks though I'd like to be able to see the whole site (then again there's a lot to be said for having the place almost to yourself without the tourists). I managed to find only four of the wedge tombs in the time I was around the Burren. This is probably because the guide book I bought at the Aillwee caves said Baur North was a few hundred metres behind Baur South. After cutting and beating my way through the thicket and stone walls for 3/4 of an hour I finally gave up only to find out when I got home its actually up the nearby lane beside the farm buildings. Baur South was worth the effort though but I would have liked to have gone on to Ballyganner and a few other places.
