how do you know when a bump is a barrow (without excavating it to death)?

Well I suppose these ones from the air look at bit more like what I would describe as a ring-ditch type of thing (doughnut).
Plus there is the big barrow to the north-west.
Anyway I was just curious what people thought and whether it was worth going to have a look at them.
Also if they are barrows then how were they missed in what isnt a very remote part of the world.
