Irish OS maps are like the UK ones ... with one small exception ... erm ... the only footpaths marked are the sort of 'walking trails' that they have.

I don't know if Ireland is blessed with the good old 'right of way' like the UK or not. If it is then they aren't shown on the maps. There seem to be no 'public footpaths'. I am still to find out exactly what that's all about.

Most tombs and stones are shown.

Northern Ireland maps are made by a different bunch so I don't know about the detail in those ones.

Detailed Irish maps are a megalithic fest - never have I seen such helpful maps in any country, with coloured stone sites and all. I have always envied that easy access to information. I prefer them to the OS ones.

Many countries do NOT show any of their minor monuments lest the ignorant buggers who still believe stone age sites keep golden treasures descend on them, the twats!
