Yup, a cillín is a childrens graveyard. As Catholics believe in the original sin an unbaptised child couldn't be buried in a church graveyard as they are still 'tainted'.

The word comes from the same root as kill or church: killeen - a small church.

Many of them are in old raths or possibly henges in some cases, hence why they're mainly round.

Looks like I'm going to working back up in the Greater Dublin Area again.
This time Im probably going to be around Bray. Its going to be hard to visit any new sites up this way. They are firmly in the grasp of Fourwinds and Ryaner!
