BA bowl-barrows ; Charmy Down 1 ST 7624 7028, Charmy Down 2 ST 7625 7026, Batheaston 1 & 2 ST 75 70, St. Catherine 1-3 ST76 70.
St. Catherine 4 ST76 70 a BA bell-barrow twice opened in 19th century.
St. Catherine 5 ST76 70 BA barrow excavated 1822.
[five destroyed barrows in Tumpy Field ST 7626 7027 (one of which produced a shale bead and ring) relates to some of these ST77SE 14].
ST 7554 7033 site of two EBA round barrows.

ooh thanks - what's the mysterious source of your information then?

Thank you for all that, the five destroyed barrows at Tumpy field (good name ,must have been its old name) are right on the airfield at Charmy down, some of the others might be repeats of those barrows because St.Catherine is the parish name. There are I think 34 barrows on the opposite side of the valley (Lansdown), mostly destroyed as well.
