Well, here is one excellent opinion/suggestion from Heritage Action http://www.heritageaction.org/?page=theheritagejournal Easy to implement and one which would solve the overcrowded souvenir shop and the tacky McStonehenge Burger outlet in one go. Certainly be interesting to hear from English Heritage why this can't be done - now!

I like this bit -

"This ghastly presence at Stonehenge has got to be the all-time tackiest facet of the Stonehenge experience. Why, even now, is it being allowed? Let's ditch it. It's a national disgrace."

When the phrase "national disgrace" was first used in parliament all those years ago it was surely the fast food joint that was prominent in everyone's minds. Yet it's still there!

It has been calculated that most visitors stay for quite a short time so it can hardly be said to be for their benefit. So for whose benefit has it been allowed to stay, disgracing us nationally? It's a puzzle.
