Excuse me, she's a plaster (plastic) mermaid covered in shells - rather a pathetic representation of womanhood - and an insult to real, live, child bearing women.

Humour doesn't come into it but if that's the yardstick I'm with Nigel Swift on this one. Humourless and proud of it.

I have no problem with a sense of humour - the art on the streets offends me mostly. Flotsam and jetsam is part of the riverine cycle. The spring that issues from Smithills' sacred hill is unvisited, unknown and unadorned - bar a Heron usually. That's where the perspective is.

Hi June,
I guess with all the blue and the shells she could be a freaky outsider art representation of Botticellis Birth of Venus. Venus aka Aphrodite, Isis, Astrate, Freya, Ishtar. All very feminine all very powerful.
I still think she's bloody lovely and dead funny.
