Has something happened at Swallowhead springs?
I've seen a few vague reports of some damage or vandalism there, and i dont mean the clouties etc :)
Does anyone know anything?
Rumours of the willow tree being cut down are unfounded. I was up at Swallowhead Springs on the eve of Samhain (November 1st) 2007 and apart from some damage to the left hand side, it was ok. The Ash tree that stood by the side of it was deemed to be diseased and the farmer chopped it down.

The rivers authority had asked for the vegetation on the banks to be cut back. The farmer has also cleaned up the area and erected new fences. Access will be through a gate at the end of the stepping stones. It's his land and he has the right to do what he chose’s. There has been talk of building some steps down to the river. The access via the area in front of the spring can be very slimy.
There has been some grumbling about the new "goddess" figure which has appeared over the summer. Being life size, she appears very surreal.

I can't really complain about putting stuff there as I put up another set of Tibetan prayer flags each year. At least they will bio degrade over time.
