This has not been a good day. First I read this thread and realize I'll never do a decent painting, then I think to myself I can't possibly afford to buy one of Jane's by way of consolation, then I think of Mr Archer sipping champagne in his penthouse surrounded by his Monet's, and finally I see this bloke's 'orrible megalithic stuff (take a look at his prices Jane).

eurggh! Those are horrigle (a technical term in art criticism, of course)
They look like an A level student's work book, going through technical exercises in form, lighting etc.

I go past Mr Archer's house btw - there were no balloons or 'welcome home' banner. Most disappointing

And I don't think you're a), because you have an excellent sense of humour always at the ready; or b) except for when it comes to the NT and geocachers, and you're well aware of c)!!

That Charles Gniech stuff is utter shite, (I don't know how he can ask such prices, mine are cheap). Again, well spotted mr swift!

However, you WILL be able to do a decent painting, you just need to grit your teeth and be prepared to throw away the first 100 attempts which will be shite. It gets pretty easy after that!

I am slightly offended that my name and that cnut Jeffrey Archer's name appear in the same post! But not that offended because you say nice things about me and I am a sucker for flattery.
