I would like to add the people of Lewis were very friendly and helpful. I didn't notice any pubs outside of Stornaway, however, at the one restaurant we went into on the Uig road, 'Loch Croistean' - we were welcomed with the words "Shall I put the kettle on" and served the most delicious home cooked food.

Yes, were amazed that once out of Stornaway, there is basically no infrastructure at all. The few hotels we spotted in the "wastelands" during the daytime never seemed to be serving grub when we arrived. Definitely a "take plenty sarnies" on expedition, kind of place.

Then there was the rain, plenty of it, and mostly horizontal.

Worth it for the spectacular circles though.. Mmmmmm!

Don't be fooled there are pubs, just not in the places you'd expect :-)
