Hmmm, can't see the authorities taking kindly to a letter to a convicted faker asking him to do some "reproductions" while he's in there!

This is very interesting -
"Despite these examples, there have never been any clear guidelines for nominating World Heritage Sites based on their relationship to astronomy, and this leaves many key sites vulnerable to neglect and irreversible damage. To try and fix this, UNESCO is now encouraging member states to put forward astronomical nominations
Unfortunately, only "lightbox" type arrangements will stand a chance though, on the basis of certainty. Mind you. the Sanctuary-Silbaby-Silbury alignment looks so accurate that it ought to be celebrated, but the middle bit doesn't officially exist so far. Give it twenty years and it'll get officially discovered maybe, and you won't be able to move for coach parties of Americans looking at it. There's a lesson for you there, maybe.

What astronomy is involved in that "alignment " ?

Yes, you're right. When the BBC makes a dramatic reenactment of my prehistoric finds in Bolton (etc) I hope they will include the time I went to Twisted Nerve records, then on Oldham Street, in Manchester. It was up two floors of decrepitude. Once inside it was peeled lino, a couple of desks with Applemacs and a divaette putting on makeup behind a cupboard. I was looking for Badly Drawn Boy in the hope that he'd write a song about the Smithills stone rows.

I've found an observatory in Slaggyford - I think it's the only one of its kind. Unspeakably fragile - drystone walled - and just ready to fall over. It still works!

Yeah, I'm following that whim - I can teach him some sculpture theory perhaps - or put him on the track of new ideas. I'm not so sure he will sell when he comes out - the art world 'has a long memory' and loves excluding difficult personalities - hence 'Outsider Art'. He's not communicating with anyone (from the media) - I've been told - but if I send him a book and some notes there's a chance they'll get through. Any message?
