Try to give yourself half a day at the Ashmolean, Clint; among its many treasures it houses one of the finest collections of Chinese ceramics in the country. The jewel in the Ashmolean* crown has to be, literally, the (King) Alfred Jewel which is a stunning example of Anglo-Saxon craftsmanship - though sadly when I was there last summer only a replica was on display (Jane may be able to tell you if you can now see the original). Excellent Museum shop, and an oyster-bar across the road if you've work up an appetite in the galleries :-)
