A search on Caistor St. Edmund by Pastscape threw up a circular enclosure seen from the air 1km SW of Arminghall that on the ground could be a henge ( TG20NW 159 ) . More importantly in answer to Kozmik Ken's query is the other site , Markshall Old Heath TG20SW 1 , at grid reference TG2204 . This site had six EBA ring-ditches ( of which five were excavated ) , an Early Iron Age settlement , four Late Iron Age enclosures and various later additions through the ages . Finds in Norwich Museum .

Cheers for the info Wideford. If the circular enclosure at Caistor is just south of the town walls, it could be the nearby amphitheatre??

Do you have a standard 6 fig OS map ref for the stuff at Markshall Old Heath. I'm curious if it was excavated when the Southern Bypass was built... the area around the Arminghall Henge is much maligned and has suffered an awful lot by being so close to Norwich.
