Well I assume he is saying the marker is the flat rock the shaft of light lands on. Shame he doesn't say if it could have been placed there.

As for the timing, Salopian noon occurs at exactly 0.00 Elephants I suppose. Someone needs to go up there and check that.

There is a case of a Northumbrian man made drilled stone , Simonside ? that has a solstice or equinox associated light show . No date for the drilling though .
