stones and mounds

There are a lot of Sarsens that have been reused to control the flow of the Ogbourne at its source.
There is a strange conical mound that I have yet to find that Hamish Millers claims is a node on the Mary ley line in his book The Sun and the Serpent (p196) but locals I know claim it is a recent construction.
Looking at the photo in the book the top of the mound appears too pointed for it to old.

I was looking at that and trying to work out where they meant it was - it was very vague really? There are lots of barrows marked on the os map but one in the picture was awfully steep sided.
Anyway ahem get out your dowsing rods and follow the lines and you'll soon get there.

in the book they say the mound was constructed round about ww2 time, no one knows why the farmer built it.
