The depressing thing is that the Time Team discussion was started, I suspect, by a Treasure seeker (that forum is absolutely infested with them). Who else could it be, given the spelling and the appalling attitude:

"Why are English heritage so strick when in comes to digging up land etc...????"

And instead of him being smacked down he gets answered by a "Don't blame English Heritage" apologist.

Which one would YOU string up first?

I'd bury the metal detectorist and string up the EH fan.
Did you know I have been waiting for 2 years for permission from EH to climb the hill to do pics?
They send me emails every couple of months to ask if I have received permission yet and promise to push things along.
The 'No War' slogan on the hill wasn't there for a week before they took it down.
They left the Pro-hunt crap on the Uffington horse a lot longer than that!
