'pagan' is latin !

It's a Christian word !

Real reason they say Lammas is because they don't know how to pronounce Lughnasadh. Both are harvest festivals though which isn't surprising as crops will be ready for harvest in August

... paganus in Latin simply meant villager and was not used to describe a non-christian person until Late Latin and did not enter English until around 1400 where it appeared in <i>Morte Arthur</i> - making it a VERY Christian word :-)

It would hardly be the first example of an insult being adopted with pride would it? The Pagan community has taken a word that used to be nothing but an insult and has made it a badge of pride.

I don't see the issue personally...
