The first thing I'm trying to do (bloody pc keeps hanging!!!!) is to get the contact details on the local and national councillors that need to be pushed and post it on my "Firnds of Thornborough" website, so individuals can start writing letters.

Secondly, I think that I need to address the questions: why is this site important, and why is the surrounding area so important.

I have pictures, taken from one of the areas currently being quarried which show post hole alignments pointing directly to the entrance of the Northern henge, in the current quarry area there are four such alighnments.

I have been able to see details of the new quarry area initial investigation, which, while it shows around 80 post holes, does not correctly records them - location marked wrong, no relationship recorded between the holes.

After these photo's were taken, the alignments were bulldozed. Clearly the quarrying company knows that they are destroying important archaeology and know that if they do not record it as anything significant, no-one will know.

Have I been clear about the level of quarrying that is planned? in six years or so only the banks of the henges will remain. The entire surrounding area (minus one cursus - there are two, only one is protected) will have been removed to a depth of up to 20ft.

Take your thoughts on this very dodgy group of folk to the press!!!

Expose them!!!

I'm serious. If they are pro-actively doing bugger all, while folks think something is being done by them, then you NEEEEEED to tell people.

Folks outside of this group are having their apathy fueled because they think somebody else is doing all the work. Why should Joe Public do anything if "The Friends Of Whatever" are doing such a fine job.

Take it to the News of the World!

I did wonder why there appeared to be no mention of the danger to the complex on the official website that Jan Harding was promoting:

http://thornborough.ncl.ac.uk/

Then I noticed this at the top:

"This project is funded by English Heritage through the Aggregate Sustainability Levy Fund."
